Anita Ward- Ring My Bell (1979)

Le 20 décembre 1956, Anita Ward (c'est son vrai nom) nait à Memphis, Tenessee.

C'est sur les bancs d'écoles quelques années plus tard, en intégrant le "Rust Collège Accapella Choir", qu'elle renconte celui qui sera son futur manager:Chuck Holmes, qui lui fraye un chemin jusqu'à Juana records, label indépendant créé par Frederic Knight.

En 1979, les stations de radios prennent une claque intersidérale avec la sortie de son 1er single "Ring My Bell" (écrit par Frederic Knight), qui reste à ce jour un des morceaux disco les plus connus de tous les temps. Paradoxe: Anita n'a jamais été attirée par le disco et n'avait pas l'ambition de devenir une "Disco-Queen". Aujourd'hui elle ne veut plus avoir à chanter "Ring My Bell" et se concentre plutot sur des ballades...
