Originairement nomé 'The Jazz Crusaders', ce groupe voit le jour a Houstaon, Texas, en 1956.
Leur titre le plus connu est 'Street Life' en 1979, qui permettra à la chanteuse Randy crawford de se faire connaitre et apprécier du grand public.
Le groupe se sépare en 1988.
